Bengaluru, India – In a shocking incident of animal cruelty, a pet cat named Zaara was brutally beaten and abandoned by her owner’s roommate. The incident has sparked outrage among animal activists and the public alike.
Mohammed Aftab, Zaara’s owner, reported that his roommate, Manish Ratnakar, became enraged after Zaara urinated in the house. Ratnakar allegedly kicked the cat repeatedly, causing severe injuries to her face and legs. He then callously discarded the injured animal into an empty water tank.
Aftab discovered his badly injured cat on Tuesday, November 26th, after returning home from an outing. Zaara was found bleeding, with a swollen and purple face. Ratnakar, when confronted, admitted to the assault.
Zaara is currently receiving treatment at a veterinary hospital. Ratnakar has refused to contribute to her medical expenses, further fueling public anger.
A police complaint has been filed, and authorities have registered a case against Ratnakar under animal cruelty laws. Animal rights activists are demanding strict punishment for the perpetrator, emphasizing that such acts of violence against defenseless animals are unacceptable and must be met with decisive action.
The incident underscores the urgent need for stricter enforcement of animal welfare laws and increased public awareness regarding animal cruelty. The case has garnered significant attention, highlighting the growing demand for justice and protection for animals in India.
