Former My Chemical Romance drummer Bob Bryar has tragically passed away at the age of 44. His body was discovered in his Tennessee home on Tuesday, November 26th, two days before Thanksgiving. Law enforcement officials, citing the undisturbed state of his belongings, including musical equipment and weapons, suspect no foul play. Reports indicate that Bryar’s body was significantly decomposed, and animal control removed two dogs from the property after the discovery.
Bryar’s last confirmed sighting was on November 4th. The cause of death is currently under investigation. The Chicago native joined My Chemical Romance in 2004, succeeding Matt Pelisser, and contributed to some of the band’s most iconic songs, including “Welcome to the Black Parade.”
He left the band in 2010, prior to the release of *Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys*, though he did contribute to the album’s creation. My Chemical Romance released a statement at the time, acknowledging the difficult decision and wishing Bryar well in his future endeavors.
Following his departure from My Chemical Romance, Bryar pursued a career in real estate and devoted time to various dog rescue organizations. In 2023, he openly discussed his struggles with mental health on Twitter. Tributes have poured in from fans on social media, celebrating his musical talent and his significant contribution to the rock genre.
