Former My Chemical Romance drummer Bob Bryar has passed away at the age of 44. The news was broken by TMZ, reporting that Bryar was found deceased in his Tennessee home on Tuesday. He had last been seen on November 4th. While the cause of death remains undetermined, authorities have indicated no suspicion of foul play. Animal control officers discovered Bryar’s body during a visit to his property to remove two dogs.
A medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to establish the official cause of death. Bryar was the final drummer for the popular emo band, My Chemical Romance, contributing to their iconic sound from 2004 to 2010. His journey with the band began while working as a sound technician for The Used, a band My Chemical Romance toured with. He unexpectedly replaced Matt Pelissier after the release of their album, *Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge*.
Bryar’s contributions extended to their critically acclaimed album, *The Black Parade*, cementing his place in the band’s history. He faced several injuries during his time with My Chemical Romance, including third-degree burns from a pyrotechnics accident during the filming of the “Famous Last Words” music video. Wrist problems also plagued him during a 2007 tour. In 2010, Bryar left My Chemical Romance and later exited the music industry altogether in 2014, pursuing real estate and supporting animal rescue organizations. His departure from the band was announced on their website, expressing mutual respect and well wishes for his future endeavors. In recent years, he had publicly revealed struggles with suicidal thoughts and online harassment.
My Chemical Romance is scheduled for a series of stadium shows in the US and Canada next year, celebrating *The Black Parade*. Bryar was not involved in these upcoming performances.
