Telenet, a major Belgian telecommunications provider, has announced the resolution of a significant mobile network outage that affected thousands of users. The outage, which began Tuesday morning, prevented many customers from making calls or accessing mobile internet services.
A spokesperson for Telenet, Bart Boone, confirmed that the issue was resolved around 12:15 PM. He stated that the situation has returned to normal for the vast majority of customers. The disruption was attributed to a problem discovered following a routine maintenance operation on the mobile network. A complete system restart was necessary, causing the service interruption until midday.
Importantly, the fixed internet and television services offered by Telenet remained unaffected throughout the incident. The company is currently investigating the root cause of the problem to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Customers who experienced prolonged issues are encouraged to contact Telenet customer support for assistance.
