Steve Esson, a Dunedin resident, brought holiday spirit to the city streets this past Saturday. Donning his Santa Claus costume, Esson charmed shoppers with his festive attire. This is his second year embodying the jolly old elf, and he reports that the joy he brings to passersby makes the effort worthwhile.
His booming laughter and warm greetings filled the Dunedin air, delighting children and adults alike. While he relished the positive reactions, Esson did have to remind some enthusiastic youngsters to keep their hands off his impressive beard – a real, authentic Santa beard, he insists!
The impromptu festive appearance created an uplifting scene, capturing the spirit of Christmas in Dunedin’s city center. Shoppers paused their errands to share smiles and a bit of holiday cheer with the unexpected Santa.
