Singaporean man Ng Boon Siong was fined $4,500 for his bull terrier’s attack on another dog and its owner. The incident occurred on October 23, 2023, near a playground. Ng’s dog, which was off-leash and unmuzzled, attacked a Shiba Inu named Miso, injuring both Miso and its owner, Ooi.

Ooi sustained injuries including a deep abrasion on his knee, a sprained ankle, and scratches. Miso’s harness was damaged. Ng attempted to stop the attack but was unsuccessful until his domestic helper intervened.

This was not Ng’s first offense. He had previously received three fines from the Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS) for similar violations of leash and muzzle laws. The AVS issued a statement reminding pet owners of their responsibilities.

The incident highlights the importance of responsible pet ownership and adherence to leash laws, especially for scheduled breeds like bull terriers.
